The Eco park of Kolkata    About  On 19th July, 2011, Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, on her way from the airport, got down near the water body by the side of New Town M.A.R and the idea was born. With her vision of sustainable development, the 480 acres of land containing and surrounding the water body was declared to be converted into an ecological garden – the first of its kind in the Eastern region of India. This Eco Tourism Park was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Smt Mamata Banerjee on 29th December, 2012. Since 1st January, 2013, the Eco Park has been opened for visitors. The park remains closed on all Mondays for maintenance.
